Each month, Building 543 hosts an ever-changing roster of local entrepreneurs, gardeners, artists, shops and designers who bring handmade items to share with our community. Interested in becoming a vendor? Contact the URBN Community team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Intro to drawing, how to distress jeans, personal finance tips, health and wellness – we’ve covered it all and then some at our Brown Bag Workshops. Held every Friday during lunch, Brown Bag Workshops provide engaging, useful information on a variety of topics. These workshops give employees an opportunity to connect with other like-minded colleagues and tap into their artistic minds. Not to mention, they’re the perfect way to end a busy work week! Interested in hosting a workshop? Contact the URBN Community team at email@example.com.
Held monthly, Coffee Chats gather URBN employees together to talk with subject matter experts about company projects and initiatives. These chats give employees an opportunity to connect cross-functionally in an open and informal setting.
Our Wellness Series provides URBN employees with a chance to educate themselves on health and self-care. Holistic Wellness is important to us – which is why each month we engage in conversation with a wellness professional or hos an experiential fitness event for our community.
We want URBN employees to stay in charge of their finances. Each month, we bring in experts to provide advice and answer your questions on topics such as home buying, student loan debt, tax breaks, and saving for retirement.
Inspired by an employee who was passionate about their time in Big Brothers Big Sisters, we decided to get involved and start our own program here at URBN. Now, a number of our employees mentor a student every other week. On those days, you can spot “bigs” and “littles” around our Navy Yard campus playing games, eating lunch, doing arts and crafts or just getting to know each other. Over the course of the school year, their time together makes a significant impact. We believe that youth mentoring fosters a bright future for our surrounding communities.
Our annual Howl-o-ween pup parade just seems to get bigger and better with each passing year. Meet us on the Dry Dock to watch our favorite four-legged friends strut their stuff or shop the special outdoor market featuring pet-friendly booths and pet adoptions.
Catch the Phillies Phever! URBN has season tickets for amazing seats on the first base line.
Each year, our campus welcomes children ages 8 to 13 for a day of programming specially crafted by each of our brand teams. This immersive experience gives children a look behind the amazing community of creatives their parents are a part of.
URBN employees are always collaborating and learning from each other. Our semi-annual Hack-a-thon is one of the amazing ways our IT Department does this.
When the clock strikes 3pm, expect to find a line in front of our Jharoka Coffee Shop. To help fight those afternoon munchies, the team creates a surprise snack at a discounted price each day. From espresso affogato, healthy smoothies, soft pretzels and more — their tempting treats leave employees recharged for the remainder of the workday.
The food in 543 is truly delicious, but sometimes, you just want something different. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 AM to 2 PM, enjoy some local cuisine from our lunch truck lineup at the Marine Parade Grounds.
Ice cream from an ice cream truck? Yes, please! Each summer Mister Softee visits our campus so employees and the public can indulge their cravings. Around 2pm, listen for the Mister Softee Jingle and get in line for your dipped cone!

Each Summer, the Benefits Team hosts their annual Benefits Fair on campus. The Benefits Fair is a chance for our home office employees to get all their benefit questions answered by meeting our benefit vendors. The vendors come armed with program knowledge and maybe a few giveaways too! The team also provides on-site wellness programs and cancer screenings.
Softball, Kickball, Volleyball —if you can dream it, we’ll help make it happen. But be warned, competition is fierce when employees come together for the various sports clubs around campus.
In partnership with Independence Blue Cross, URBN has secured 100 bibs to the broad street run to gift to our employees. Each year, we'll raffle these off to our Home Office employees.
For years, Team URBN has taken to the roads in support of the MS Society by partaking in MS: City to Shore Ride. Over the course of one weekend, a number of our employees ride from Philadelphia to Ocean City, New Jersey, and back. Although the City to Shore ride is a great physical challenge, it’s become so much more than just a ride.
For our Thanksgiving food drive, URBN has partnered with the Navy Yard and Philabundance; a Philadelphia based non-profit dedicated to driving hunger out of our communities and ending hunger forever. 1 in 5 Philadelphians face hunger on a daily basis, and it’s our goal to change that statistic.
The talented team at Shop 543 is always cooking up great ideas for pop-up food specials. Look forward to seasonal favorites for Saint Patrick’s Day, Oktoberfest, Fourth of July, and Thanksgiving along with gift-able baked goods for Mother’s Day, Valentines, and Winter Holidays.
There’s a lot of things we love here at URBN: our morning lattes at Jharoka, our beautiful campus, our #URBNDogs, and of course, our Sample Sales. These infamous sales only come around once in a blue moon, so be sure to pick up a bag at B12 Reception and brush up on the policy so you’re ready for this epic sale.
Let the bidding begin! Our Silent Auctions are an opportunity for employees to bid on ‘as is’ furniture from all of our brands. URBN Community will set the minimum bid and lucky for you, you’ll never pay more than $25 more the next highest item bid. Be on the lookout for our next Silent Auction which will be announced via email.
