On Thursday, July 21, URBN hosted its annual summer party. This year, URBN celebrated 10 years at the Navy Yard, marking the upcoming milestone in September. To recognize a decade at the yard, the theme of the party was inspired by Alice and Wonderland’s “Through the Looking Glass."
The party was held outside near the dry dock and it was decked out with specific themes based on each year’s milestone. For instance, to mark Terrain’s addition to the URBN portfolio in 2008, exterior and interior photos of the original J. Styer’s Nursery were on display.
Employees enjoyed a tea cup ride, giant inflatable Zorb balls to roll around in, fun house mirrors, oversized chess set, photobooth and a live DJ. Throughout the party were large faux grass walls and playing cards that included a list of yearly milestones to help navigate the party. There was no shortage of delicious food – all served up by Shop 543 – with tasty treats like fried chicken with tempura sweet potato and bite-sized waffles, beer batter fish filets and English chips, sugar cookies printed with playing card patterns, beef and vegetable hand pies with vadouvan creme, chicken + English pea hand pies with tomato vinaigrette, vegetable muffuletta sliders with kale pesto, and much more. Signature cocktails with festive names like The Hedge, The Jabberwocky and The Alice as well as a make-your-own sangria bar left no one thirsty. Pizzeria Vetri also got in on the fun by serving their delicious flat bread pizzas from their pizza truck.
A huge thank you to the vendors and everyone who worked so hard to bring this incredible party together. Check out URBN Community on Instagram to see some of the great party photos!
