UO aims to reduce single-use plastic polybag waste from entering landfills and the environment. To accomplish this, we will repurpose our current plastic polybags for future use, by partnering with Trex, an eco-friendly composite decking manufacturer. This initiative will divert over 100 tons of UO plastic from landfills annually.

Anthropologie has transitioned their packaging to a fully sustainable program. Bags, including handles which are made of paper, are made of 80% post-consumer content and are eligible for single-stream recycling.
To reduce waste, FP has eliminated their gift box program entirely. All packaging, both shoppers and gift wrap, are made of natural cottons and are re-usable and washable. New Movement bags are made of durable rip-stop nylon and are highly re-usable as well.
Free People shopping bags are made of 100% cotton, which is 100% biodegradable and reusable.
Urban Outfitters shopping bags are made from 100% recyclable (#5), non-woven polypropylene (NWPP).
In its past life, each Nuuly garment bag was a bunch of empty water bottles, going nowhere. Now it's zipping around the country, replacing boxes and refreshing closets. Made of recycled post-consumer plastic, it’s also reusable and recyclable and we think it has a very bright future ahead of it.

Free People has eliminated all gift boxes, and tissue wrap is 100% recyclable.
Anthropologie has transitioned to using tissue paper made from 60% post-industrial fibersonly in gift situations, and in a reduced capacity. Small changes can lead to huge impacts, with a 50% redcution in the size of a sheet of tissue, the brand is on track to reduce total usage by 80% for this year. Addtionally, gift boxes have been transitioned to 100% post-consumer recycled content.
